The Flex-A-JET Series Portable Direct Part Marking System
The Flex-A-JET series portable ink jet marking system can be positioned horizontally, allowing a part to be positioned against the bezel face; positioned pointed down, allowing a simple set-up and then moving parts along the workstation table beneath the marking head; and lastly, positioned through the tabletop opening beneath the work surface and then positioning parts to be marked face down over the workstation opening. Your operators will quickly learn the best head positioning for the parts to be marked.

Flex-A-JET 8400 System
The 8400 Series is JETEC’s most advanced portable marking system. It features a full 4.00” x 2.00” marking area. No need to move the part in order to add additional lines of printed information of varying character height. The 8400 series is capable of printing alphanumeric text, logos, varying sized text and Mil-Std 130 UID compliant 2D codes within a single marking cycle. Best of all, there are no belts that can fatigue during normal operation. The Flex-A-JET 8400 is controlled by JETEC’s IMS5000 application software. Lastly the 8400 system includes a CPU w/Win 11 Professional installed, flat screen display and ink jet printer assembly.
The Flex-A-JET™ 8400 Hand-Held Marking Station features a lightweight portable gun assembly. It has been designed to meet the needs of customers that require a controlled, repeatable, moving print head system configuration that provides the capability of bringing the movable print head to the part to be marked and/or need to manually present parts within a controlled fixed position.
When marking large parts simply position the marking head against the part to be marked, depress the handle trigger and hold while the marking information is printed on the part. Normal cycle time to print five (5) to six (6) lines of information is less than 15 seconds.
The Flex-A-JET head can also be positioned upward through an optional opening in the workstation provided to allow for the marking of parts faced down on the workstation.
The Flex-A-JET 8400 system features JETEC’s IMS5000 Software operating within the WIN 11 Professional operating system. Standard printer device fonts, Windows fonts, custom fonts, bar codes, 2D codes and logo printing are just a few of the features of IMS5000 software. The current revision of IMS5000 offers Mil-Std 130N compliance and procedure linking per program. Users can create program specific instructions and pictures and link them to programs. Operators can view marking specific program instructions while marking parts. This procedure can significantly reduce errors caused by the incorrect marking or misplacement of marks.
Flex-A-JET 5400 System
An alternative system to the Flex-A-JET 8400 system for portable direct part marking is the Flex-A-JET 5400, a single axis portable ink jet part marking system.
The proposed system for your application is the Flex-A-JET 5400. The control software for this system is JETEC’s IMS2701™ software. IMS2701 provides the capability to print alphanumeric text, bar codes and a wide range of product surfaces.
The Flex-A-JET™ 5400 Hand-Held Marking Station is a computer controlled portable gun and fixed mount marking station. It has been designed to meet the needs of customers that require a controlled, repeatable, moving print head system configuration that provides the capability of bringing the movable print head to the part to be marked and/or need to manually present parts within a controlled fixed position.
The Flex-A-JET 5400 Hand-Held Marking Station provides a 5.50” single-axis marking stroke. This results in an actual usable print length of 5.00” per marking cycle. The Flex-A-JET 5400 features a direct drive motion assembly, no belts, moving the ink jet print head. The print head can be mounted in either an up-spray (through workstation surface), downward or right-angle configuration to your part. It will accommodate parts varying in size and shape.
The Flex-A-JET 5400 system features JETEC’s IMS2701 Software and is using WIN 11 Professional operating system.
The Flex-A-JET™ 5400 includes a portable print head holder, industrial ink jet printer, cleaning tray assembly, alert light, CPU, Win 11 Professional operating system, JETEC’s IMS2701 software, ink and make-up fluid starter kit and system documentation.
